eTask (Enterprise Tasks) is a standards based task organization app that allows you to view, edit, create, delete, and sync your Tasks with your e-mail server, similar to the way you do with iCal. With eTask you can fully exchange your todo lists with your computer task app on your mac or PC (through the email server). Once configured you can enter tasks on iCal, Outlook, Sunbird, or your web-interface and fully interoperate with your iPhone/iPod touch.

NO subscription to purchase! Use your existing groupware server or setup a free Yahoo account (see support site for more info).

eTask syncs with Groupware (e-mail) servers such as Kerio, MS Exchange 2007/2010/2013, or Yahoo using a variety of protocols such as the CalDAV standard, Exchange Web Services (Microsoft), and iCalendar for publish/subscribe. You can even create local iPhone/iPod touch only tasks.

Dont have a Groupware server? Consider creating a free account on iCloud or Yahoo. From this free account you can use eTask for tasks. You can also access tasks, calendars, and e-mail via the web-interface, iCal/mail on a mac, or Thunderbird/Lightning (mozilla.org) on windows. See the eTask/FAQ page for more info.

Local tasks may be Published on a calendar server such as iCalx (iCal Exchange) or you may Subscribe to a task list that someone else has published on a calendar server. Publish and subscribe use HTTP(S) protocols.

Now you can reach your TODO lists wherever you take your iPhone/iPod touch. Create as many task lists as you like and sync them with your server(s). For example if you run Kerio Mail Server or MS Exchange 2007 at work and use Yahoo for your personal calendar/tasks eTask will sync to both servers. You can then view, edit, insert, and delete tasks from your iPhone/iPod touch.

On an airplane or otherwise out of network connectivity? No problem. eTask saves your edits and applies them the next time you are connected to a network.

Pros and cons of eTask app for iPhone and iPad

eTask app good for

I was missing something to sync with my Kerio mail server tasks. Very nice and simple and getting better with every update.
No program is perfect, but this one is indeed brilliant and much appreciated. I have three calendars in our Thunderbird/Lightning/SOGo setup (sorry dont know all the lingo) on the Webdav server. eTask does an excellent job of syncing the tasks. In the initial setup I did have to re-create my categories from Lightning, which at first did not seem user friendly, but very easy once I figured out the process. I havent tried out every function, but am pleased thus far. The color coding is very helpful and I would love to see some small, nicely designed clip art incorporated in the program eventually. Visually I find this very helpful in other programs I use.
Great app! The only thing missing is the possibility of showing number of uncompleted tasks in the logo icon. Having this will help me to remember that I still have tasks to do. This would be extremely useful for people that forget things. Please consider to add this option in the next upgrade.
Perfect sync with iCal tasks. The first if not the only one to achieve this. Previously I used Todo of Appigo with great satisfaction, unfortunately it does not work with MobileMe Beta. eTask done the work very well, but its icon is not nearly as pretty.
Works greAt as intended, its not following GTD methodology because there isnt simple way to move between today, tomorrow, this week, and near future. Bit as a simple task manager it works great. Sync with multiple yahoo accounts or others using carrdav. Works really well. (correction caldav, not carddav)
This was the only task app I purchased that syncd with my outlook web easily. I havent given it 5 stars as its lacking the option to customize fonts/looks so its easy to organize and view categories.

Some bad moments

The setup is way to complicated and the support they give is saying that is an issue with iCal and Yahoo, but not our problem. In the end you are stuck with a program that is only half working. Some normal task functions you can not do with this program.
what a waste of my credit. you telling me they couldnt come up with something more intuitive
This is the only task app I could find that would sync to our work KMS server and my personal Yahoo account. I now have all the same tasks on my iPhone that I have on iCal and Sunbird. Any changes made through eTask automatically sync to the servers with no extra "sync" software or service. This completes my suite of office apps on the iPhone.
I was looking for a Task app that would work with Kerio. The app works great. Now I can view and edit my tasks on the go. I gave it 5 stars since the app does what its advertised to do, the support web-site had good examples, and the developer replied promply to my e-mails with answers to my questions on setup. This app has potential. The developer said he is working on the ability to create and delete tasks and other features, which IMO, will make this app very useful.
This is a good app and very useful. My only reason for rating it 4 stars instead of 5 are that there are a few features that I would like to see. On the *very* positive side, the developer is very responsive to comments and suggestions. Depending on what happens in the next release or so, my review will probably get changed to 5 stars.
Although it took a bit of machinations to get the app working, I am now satisfied with the performance of the product. If you are using Kerio Mail Server this is app is a must.
